Eve Jihhan Jeffers is an African-American recording artist and actress. She was born on November 10, 1978 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In high school she took on the name Gangsta. She was part of an all-girls group EDGP (pronounced Egypt) but eventually went solo and by the name of Eve of Destruction. When her mother got remarried Eve moved to New York and started working as a stripper in one of the clubs in the Bronx. It is there that she met rapper Mase who encouraged her to quit stripping and focus on rapping.
She released her first album "Let There Be Eve...Ruff Ryders' First Lady" in 1999. The album was a huge success and it became only the 2nd hip-hop album by a female artist to make it to the the Billboard 200 at number one. Her follow up album "The Scoprpion", was released in 2001 to good reviews and the second single "Let Me Blow Your Mind" Gwen Stefani was very successful, peaking at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100. Eve won a Grammy Award for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for this song and in time "The Scorpion" went platinum. Since then she has released her third album "Eve-Olution" 2002 which wasn't as successful as the previous 2 but went gold nonetheless.
In 2007 she began working on a new album under the name "Here I Am". have been numerous delays in it's production as well as name changes and the album is expected to finally be released in the fall of 2010 under the name "Lip Lock".
Has starred in movies such as "XXX" Vin Diesel, "The Barber Shop 2: Back In Business" and others. She has her own clothing line Fetishand is on VH1's list of 50 Greatest Women of the Video Era.
