Alexandra Paul (middle name Elisabeth) was born 29 July 1963. Her most memorable appearance was in Baywatch as Lt. Stephanie Holden.
She was born in New York and has a twin sister and a younger brother who's currently in jail. She is an actress as well as a sports person and a political activist.
In her acting career, she started off in a movie Christine in 1983 (she had 2 other movies in a year before that) before she embarked on a 5 year regular appearance in Baywatch. A rarity in Hollywood, she did not have a breast enlargement to appear on that show, she was portraying an athlete. She also appeared in Melrose Place in 1999 for 8 episodes. She appeared in over 60 shows and movies in her long career.
She also co-produced and co-wrote two environmentally-based documentaries which won awards. Apart from being an actress, she also tried being a host of non-fiction TV shows based on environment. When she's not acting, she's also involved in political activism. She was named "an activist of the year" in 2005. She looks after the environment by recycling on a regular basis and is against using products that have been tested on animals. She promotes the usage of electrical cars. Due to her strong beliefs, she has also been arrested in 2005, while protesting against crushing of the electric vehicles. This arrest was also in the documentary "Who Killed the Electric Car" which was released in 2006.
On a personal note, she is married to triathlon coach since 2000 and thanks to that, Alexandra Paul is a competitive athlete. She was involved in an Ironman triathlon in 1997 and recently in August 2009, in Fiji swim, among other competitions in years in between. Her body shape also allowed her to stay fit and compete.
